59My Experience With Easy Loans: The Burger King That Sells $50 Bacon Burgers
Way back when, my wife and I took out easy loans, and it took us a lot of years to slowly rebuild our credit. As an architect and a sports writer, we believe that we are always responsible with our finances.
Over the past years, our professions have allowed us to enjoy a more comfortable lifestyle. Don’t get me wrong, we are not the Rockefellers. We still live on a very strict budget. We very rarely eat out at restaurants and are always shopping for the best deals at the supermarket.
Due to this very strict budget we reward ourselves with two vices; Satellite TV and Burger King. I never would have expected that my little pleasure would result in reversing our struggle to stay financially sound. I ran to the phone and called my banker friend, George, pleading "I need a loan!”
It all went down during one of those super busy days at work. It was Monday morning and Football season just started so we were swamped writing pieces about all the action that had transpired over the weekend. Finally, we snuck out for lunch. George and I went over to Burger King. When we were in line at Burger King it suddenly hit me that I didn’t have my checkbook
George, who covered the local professional baseball team, suggested, “Hey man, just throw it on the card and write down the debit charges when you get home”. I took his advice and purchased a double bacon cheeseburger meal. After the fact, I stuck the receipts in my wallet next to my card and cell phone so when I got home I would remember to write it in my checkbook.
At home, later that evening, I made good on a promise that I had made to my wife the previous week and purchased a couple of outfits for her. Three hundred bucks later, she had those new outfits.
But while she changed to model her work clothes, I opened my email box only to find something that wasn’t so pretty.
“Holy crap!” I exclaimed in response to a “non-sufficient funds” notice from my bank. It turned out that the charges to the apparel website, the grocery store, gas station and landlord just cleared. But, on top of causing shredded receipt confetti to get all over our load of wash from the receipt I had left in my pants pocket, I learned that I forgot to add the Burger King charges to my register. Therefore, due to multiple overdraft fees, I paid $50 for my burger.
After apologizing profusely to my wife for the folly with the receipts, I knew that the bank account had to be fixed right away. The only problem was that we had pretty bad credit, so the only thing we could generally get from traditional places would be loans high risk or short term loans from illegal loan sharks.
The whole big problem was knocked out with the help of a fast easy loan. I got the little bit I needed, got my account out of the red and then repaid the loan when I got my next check a week later.
Now, my wife and I tell all of our friends, “When you’ve left transaction receipts in your pockets, don’t risk taking out secured loans or easy loans from shady lenders. Clean up the dryer then log on to 2hourfastcash.com.
